Homeowners' Emergency Mortgage Assistance (HEMAP)
The purpose of the HEMAP program is to prevent widespread mortgage foreclosures and distress sales of homes which result from default caused by circumstances beyond a homeowners’ control.
Eligibility:

Homeowners’ must be in receipt of an Act 91 notice from the lender advising them of the delinquent status.

Homeowners’ must be a PA resident who own and occupy the property in foreclosure

Homeowners’ must be at least 60 days delinquent

Suffering financial hardship due to circumstances beyond homeowners’ control

Demonstrate reasonable prospects of being able to maintain mortgage payments after HEMAP loan assistance ends.
If you are in receipt of an Act 91 Notice it is important to call our office and schedule an appointment with the HEMAP counselor.
By applying for the HEMAP loan within 33 days of the date of the Act 91 notice a hold is placed on your foreclosure proceedings until a decision is made on your application.
